From the outside door the size looks to be the same (photo A) but inside you can see, if you know the usual configuration, that the hallway is wider and there's a nice space (about 2 feet) beside the door. This wider hallway is very useful; two people can easily put away clothes, dress, etc. in the hall; there's room to pass each other. That extra width of the room (no extra length that we can tell; just wider) also means that between the sofa and the desk there's another 2 feet there too so it's easy to use the sofa's adjustable table for a meal; the chair isn't jammed into the desk. I couldn't get that to show in photos though.
What you can see in 2 photos is the extra space between the bed and the end tables. The headboard is wider; still goes all the way across the room but the space on each side by the bed means that things on the table aren't knocked off as easily when you're reading or shifting pillows on the bed and you're less likely to lose stuff off the tables.
You can also tell from the photo showing the back of the door how my door decoration system works; it's just a long ribbon with about a foot of elastic sewed between the two ends and slipped over the door longwise like you'd put a ribbon over a package. Whatever the decoration is, I staple it to the ribbon before we leave home.
If two REALLY BIG people needed a cabin in this category I'd highly recommend it; they'd have more room to move around. We're pretty normal-sized and we still loved the extra space. You don't hear anything from the dining room above you but the thrusters are below you and you will absolutely know when they are deployed! And there were some random noises occasionally--sounded like hangers shoved on the closet rod but it wasn't that. Some people might be bothered by that. There's a sign on the door to the Lower Prom asking people not to slam it; we didn't hear much noise there but we weren't in the cabin immediately next to it. If the wind blows hard, sometimes the door will get away from the most careful of folks.
The bath is the same size (and looks the same)
as all cabins in that general size. Nothing unique to report there.

We usually sail mid-ship or aft after one bad
experience in a foward cabin. But like I said, I won't fear foward
cabins on upper decks again, not after sailing in this one.

We did really enjoy the cabin. However,
the only thing I found wrong was in Holland America calling it a Verandah
Suite. It is definitely not a suite but just a regular verandah cabin.
We had been on the Maasdam previously and knew what we were getting but
I am sure some people might be disappointed. These pictures were
taken this June (2009) on the Canada/New England cruise from Montreal.
