On Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam, Oosterdam, Prinsendam, Zuiderdam: Every single Stateroom has a cooler (HAL does not like to use the word refrigerator as they don't get as cool as some medicines that require "refrigeration" need... but they will get beverages cold...)

On the rest of the HAL fleet (and note the above says NIEUW AMSTERDAM... NOT Amsterdam ) If it has a verandah, it has a cooler!

IRL_Joanie's Note: The standard Verandah/Balcony is 6 feet deep by 9 feet wide. VA aft/stern Verandah/Balcony are deeper (how much depends on which deck, and Vista class versus Signature class). VD are 7.5 feet deep. VF and VE on Vista Class ships, Noordam, Oosterdam, Westerdam and Zuiderdam, Verandah deck are only 4.5 feet deep. As of this time I do not have information on the Verandah/Balcony sizes of the PS, SA, SB, SC or SY categories Staterooms.

Here's a place where the Signature Class ships, Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam, deck plans are significantly wrong: VA 4053, VA 4054, VD 4129, and VD 4132 have balconies that are about 14 ft deep, as they extend all the way out past the lifeboat. The railing is actually in line with all the VD's. (The railings of VD 4051, VD 4052, VD 4131, and VD 4134 do not angle in.)

Stateroom VB-6173 is the most aft VB stateroom and sits next to a suite with a wraparound deck. The first day we noticed a small amount of vibration when the ship started moving but never noticed it again after that. The room was quite comfortable with enough room to move around without bumping into each other and everything in the room worked. The one feature that we saw that was new was the card slot by the door. If you put your room card in the slot, the lights would come on and if you removed your card upon leaving the room, the lights would all go out. The reading lamps by the bed were the only exception to this and when the beds were turned down at night, these were turned on by the cabin steward. The card used in the card slot does not have to be a room key, any card of the same size will work. The Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers were also new and a big improvement over the small bottles that had been used. There was a fully stocked refrigerator with beer, wine, soft drinks, water, and tiny bottles of various types of liquor and the cabin steward put out a bowl of fresh fruit on the first day. There are only 2 drawers on each side of the bed in the nightstands and two larger ones under the bed. There is also enough room under the bed to store luggage and enough closet space for two people. The square stool under the desk has a reversible top which becomes a tray and made a great storage place for the wine we brought on board with us. There was also a corkscrew in the room which I had not noticed in prior cabins. There were two 220v and two 110v outlets by the desk and one in the bathroom for shavers. The lamp on the desk has a magnifying mirror in it and can be moved around. The room came with a couch, small table, and one chair in addition to the stool. The balcony was big enough for the two of us but probably would have been a bit cramped for three or more people and had two chairs and a small table. We had decks with cabins above and below us so didn’t hear much noise and the only thing we heard from the cabins next to us was the blow dryer (we could hear that through the connecting door with the suite.) The closet closest to the door did not have a light above it which made it harder to see what was inside the closet but the other two had plenty of light. All in all, a cabin we would go to again.
